340grams of Dates- Pitted from the supermarket

2 Teaspoons of Bicarb Soda

120grams of Butter
-
3 cups (340grams) of Brown Sugar

3 Cups (340grams) of Self Raising Flour

4 Eggs

1 Teaspoon of Vanilla
METHOD
1.Boil dates in bicarb and 500mls of water until jammy. Then cool.
2.Cream the butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla then add to the date mixture.
3.Then fold in the flour with a spoon and bake in a large tin 1 hour at 150degrees.
**If you want to cook in individual tins cook at 150degrees for 25 minutes.
4.After 25 minutes check with a skewer in the centre if cooked. If gooey then put back in.
5.Continually check each 5 minutes after to make sure they are cooked.
