INGREDIENTS
- Potatoes that say they are good for mashing.
- 1 average size potato per person
- 100ml’s of Milk
- Butter
- Salt & Pepper
METHOD
1. Peel your potatoes and cut into quarters
2. Put in saucepan with water covering and boil
3. When you can place a knife in the potato without any resistance they are cooked.
4. Strain water and using a masher mash thoroughly.
5. With a wooden spoon stir quite vigorously for 5 seconds.
6. Add 100ml’s of milk and continue to beat for another 10 seconds. If it looks too dry, add a small amount more. It needs to be a firm consistency. It is better to underdo with the milk than overdo.
7. Add 20grams of soft butter, salt and pepper then beat hard for 15 seconds until all combined. The stronger you are, and the more vigorous you are the fluffier it will be.
